District Primary Purpose: To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary Purpose: To assist in the effective planning, organizing, directing, and administering of the
District’s Child Nutrition Program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High School or GED and certification, education and /or experience related to job
responsibilities
Certified Food Management Certificate (CFM) (to be obtained within one month)
Valid Texas driver’s license
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Systems Designs and school network
Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of diagnosing and resolving equipment and software related problems
Knowledge of computers, networks, and related software
Knowledge of LAN network design and installation
Ability to analyze and resolve computer network problems
Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with multiple operating systems and network protocol
Ability to follow instructions provided in oral or written form
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor Local Area Network (LAN) server problems and hardware, software, and/or configuration problems.
- Upgrade and install network computer hardware and software to include building new servers and scheduling server down time.
- Monitor and maintain CNS website.
- Perform network maintenance tasks such as backups, statistical reports, file restoration and equipment replacement, system includes Systems Design, Nutrikids.
- Write requisitions for parts, repairs, and supplies.
- Promote all CNS programs through the CNS website.
- Make and maintain the CNS department newsletter.
- Administer periodic preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Assist Network Administrative Specialist in maintaining hardware inventory, repair inventory and maintenance records.
- Will help with all student food testing and student activities at the campus level.
- Assist Network Administrative Specialist in performing yearly physical inventory of all district computer equipment.
- Provide technical training to all CNS staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of a computer; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Moderate lifting and carrying.
- Occasionally (0 to 33% of the work day) lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with frequent (67 to 99% of the work day) lifting and/or carrying objects weighing at least 25 lbs.
- Special vision requirement include: 20/20 (corrected), ability to identify and distinguish colors. Be able to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus, judge distance and spatial relationship and observe an area peripherally.
- Work environment: exposure to wet, humid conditions, hot and cold temperature and fumes or airborne particles (34 to 66% of the work day), work near moving parts (67 to 99% of the work day), work with toxic or caustic chemicals and some form of vibration ( 0 to 33% of the work day).
- The typical noise level for the work environment is loud noise.
- Hearing requirements include: ability to hear alarms on equipment, client calls and instructions from department staff.
- Repetitive motion actions include: use of foot control, both feet (1 – 2 hrs. of the work day), use hands, both hands (7+ hrs. of the work day), grasping simple/light objects (7+ hrs. of the work day), grasping firm/heavy objects (7+ hrs. of the work day).
