District Primary Purpose:
Lead operational efficiency and technological innovation across the district, ensuring a strong infrastructure, secure technology solutions, and the effective management of facilities and resources to support educational goals.

 

Department Primary Purpose:
Oversee the strategic integration of operations and technology, promoting an environment that supports educational objectives through efficient operational management and advanced technological implementation. This role is critical in maintaining operational excellence and technological integrity, aligning with the district's mission.

 

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Educational Leadership, or related field required
  • Doctorate in education, educational leadership, or related field preferred
  • Professional certifications in technology or operations management preferred.

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in operational and technological leadership within an educational or comparable setting.
  • Experience in strategic planning, facility and asset management, and the deployment of technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading complex projects, including those that emphasize data security and/or infrastructure sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of best practices in district operations, technology, facilities management, and compliance with regulatory standards.

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Direct the management of district operations, including technology, transportation, maintenance, facilities, school nutrition, warehouse and inventory management, and land/asset management; aligning goals across departments for cohesive district-wide initiatives and strategies.
  • Lead department teams to enhance district-wide operational efficiency, focusing on performance metrics, streamlined processes, and resource optimization, while ensuring technology and operations support dynamic educational delivery and administrative efficiency.
  • Advise the Superintendent on industry standards and compliance, ensuring best practices in contracts, legal actions, and facilities management, advocating for operational improvements and customer service excellence.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of major capital projects, including construction and technology upgrades, from budgetary planning to implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines and district needs.
  • Implement strategic planning for facilities and technology infrastructure, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability, and the creation of optimal learning environments through robust project management and HVAC system improvements.
  • Administer contracts, leases, and property control, developing responsive systems to address school needs promptly and enhancing service quality and operational responsiveness.
  • Foster public and private partnerships, negotiating collaborations that align with the district's strategic goals, and plan and control the use of educational technologies and information systems district-wide.
  • Serve on the Superintendent's cabinet, contributing to the vision for technology and operational excellence in supporting district strategies, serving as a resource for planning, strategy development,and technical assistance.
  • Facilitate priority setting and decision-making for effective technology use and improvements in operational efficiency.
  • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for technology and operations, preparing for resilience and upholding the district's commitment to secure and efficient educational delivery.
  • Champion compliance and excellence in all legal and regulatory issues, sharing a compelling vision to improve internal operations and customer service across assigned departments.
  • Strategically manage long-term and short-term operational strategies, promoting cross-functional collaboration to minimize inefficiencies and enhance decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Provide oversight and individual evaluation of senior level leaders, creating performance indicators for success and coaching leaders to meet department and district goals.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly oversees and evaluates the Operations and Infrastructure Department staff.

 

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands:
Office environment demands paired with occasional facility visits requiring mobility. Regular use of technology for management and communication.

 

Work Environment:
Moderate noise level with required travel to manage district operations and facilities effectively.
